The Bodhi Yoga approach called "Therapeutic Partner Yoga" is a life changing experience, whether you give it or receive it, you will be renewed beyond transformation!I can say this first hand, because when I first learned the foundational techniques of Therapeutic Partner Yoga, I was a 14 year veteran in banking. I taught yoga classes on the side, and began to attract a following. I decided to expand my skills as a yoga teacher and thought Therapeutic Partner Yoga would help me do that. I had nooooo idea that it would liquify my need for a 9-5 job and reorganize my life in a way that was far more beautiful than I could ever imagine for myself!
I knew I was starting to feel frustrated in the field of business when I showed up to get my corporate picture taken in a leopard skin shirt (not the usual image of your corporate professional). The world of mother nature, far beyond the desk set crowd had started to call my name.
Sitting at a desk and dealing with the boxed in stressors were taking their toll on my body as I managed Rheumatoid Arthritis and the challenges of mothering my son, who was fast approaching 8 years old. I knew I had to stretch beyond the box of corporate life. Soon, my small group of yoga students, in addition to classes, were lined up two months out for a lunch-hour Therapeutic Partner Yoga session with me, that paid almost as much as a full days work at the bank.
Once I made the jump out of professional life (where I had managed over 17 million dollars in assets and 9 people), to the quiet healing corner of my Therapeutic Partner Yoga office perched next to my friend and colleague Rex Kocherhans LCSW/MFT, life continued to expand beyond the borders of everything I had known.
One evening when doing a session on Rex in my office, I was contemplating how I would find the right space to open a yoga studio. I felt ready to give others the wisdom and metamorphosis I had received myself on a broader spectrum. I needed somewhere for people coming from out of town and some place that was "pretty"--a good atmosphere for yoga classes and trainings.I soon realized that I was already there, when a suite in the building right next door opened up. The bank where I had worked for 18 years had just sold, and my stock had tripled in value. I cashed it in and put money down on a space that I turned into my ivy covered yoga studio in CottonTree Square, along the banks of the Provo River. It is so lovely; beyond anything I could have planned, had I known any better than to FAITHFULLY follow my bliss.
The building needed renovation, so I had rolled my 401K out of the stock market and into my new real estate, when within 90 days the economy crashed. I had pulled my retirement out at full value, and saw none of the losses that have affected so many.
I watched my path unfold in ways that have healed and protected me. The common thread through all of my adversity and fear, as I dissolved my old life and reorganized into something completely new, honest, and true, has been the work of Therapeutic Partner Yoga. My path was teaching me that: you can't participate in doing healing work, without being healed yourself; and when you are doing what you have truly been called to do, you will be protected in ways that someday will feel a little bit miraculous.I have spent the last ten years developing a Therapeutic Partner Yoga Certification Program that teaches you how to follow your bliss through walking the healer's path.
This unique style of Partner Yoga is rooted more in Ayruveda and Yoga Practice; it is not available anywhere but in this very miraculous place in CottonTree Square. We start the next session in just a few months. Join us as we embark on this metamorphic path, for an experience like no other!
